The Head of FP&A is a pivotal member of the Finance team at Secret Escapes. In this broad and varied role, you will be an essential support to the wider business by leveraging the team’s understanding of trading drivers, financial models, and stakeholder expectations to create forward-looking plans against which the business measures its performance. You will lead a team of senior professionals and have frequent interactions with the Group’s Leadership team, acting as a key member of the Finance Leadership team. High-quality personal delivery, along with an energy and enthusiasm that inspires the team, is a must.

The Role & What You’ll Do

Lead monthly outturn reporting and the FY27 annual Budget process, ensuring buy-in from Exec Leadership and the broader stakeholder set, culminating in clear Board materials.

Partner with the Marketing team to ensure investments are profitable and drive long-term growth while hitting EBITDA goals.

Collaborate with the Trading team to set monthly revenue targets that drive commission payments and meet group EBITDA goals.

Support the business in assessing the financial impact of strategic initiatives and their subsequent implementation into financial reporting processes.

Identify opportunities to improve processes with AI and support the team to integrate AI technology where appropriate.

Drive alignment and process improvement with finance colleagues in our acquired brand (Travelist).

Provide the link between core trading data and financial reporting, ensuring reporting needs are met and maintained.

Deliver insight into monthly reported trading variances vs. Budget.

Partner with the Finance Control team to maintain strong working capital reporting.

Execute a plan covering the FP&A elements of exit readiness, using recent FDD exercises to drive improvements.

Develop a team of two senior managers, setting a strong example of inquisitiveness and energy.

Support the team to deliver business partnering to Leadership ensuring cost budgets are understood and tracked.

Contribute proactively to Finance Leadership Team discussions, strategy, and planning.

You Will Bring

A strong accountancy and financial planning background.

Extensive experience operating in a fast-growth ecommerce or technology business, with the ability to hit the ground running.

A track record of delivering complex projects while navigating tight deadlines.

Proven team leadership experience, with a comfort for developing both your own and the team’s commercial and technical knowledge.

Expertise operating in an environment that requires regular re-prioritisation.

Influencing ability, both vertically and laterally, through a combination of sound reasoning and rapport building.

Beneficial but not required: Experience using data tools (e.g., Tableau and dbt) and familiarity with successfully implementing AI technology into Finance processes.
